I saw a YouTuber movie Bob video about ideas for movies. His answer to aliens problem was make one where the xenomorph is the good guy trying to escape from the lab and we watch it as the main character.

Aliens vs predator 2 the game (2001) did this for its Alien campaign. It was fun.

Would never work, even if nothing is ever shown of the alien's body. Horror is about psychological identification with an imperiled and largely helpless character. The xenomorph is dangerous just as soon as it emerges from its host (even before birth, if we consider that it kills the host by being born) and we can't be given enough information about it for us to sympathize without killing the mystery required for cosmic horror.

It'd be like a slasher movie from the point of view of the slasher, only worse.

I was thinking more like an action movie, you know where you got one unstoppable force surrounded by hundreds of weaker threat.

It's one of the most underrated action games imo. Nearly all the multiplayer modes dwarfed Unreal/Quake or even BF/CoD in concept.

I have always thought about could you do a Alien movie without taking elements of the first two movies. As in one alien roaming a ship killing people off or having a human versus aliens war or battle going on.

TBH, it's kinda hard to do something different. And I mean a true Aliens sequel not the AvS or Ripley's shittastic prequels.

The only idea I got so far is a evolution to smarter xenomorphs. Nothing human like. Gotta make them stay truly alien as that is their main appeal. The idea of instead of them going for a direct kill like a second mouth to the forehead thing, that they torment and torture now is interesting to me. Or an xenomorph cornering a human and trying to replicate and failing human speech.

Hmm not a bad idea, maybe we see future humanity get a few weapons that can harm it so we see it go after the armory to disarm them before disarming them in another way

Bullets seem to harm them just fine. Problem is their numbers and really good hunters.

I mean if humans met them on a open field armed with semi automatic weapons, humans would slaughter them. Depending on their numbers of course. Hell other weapons like bombs, missiles, and even napalm could do short work of them.

Their big thing is in not open areas but areas where they can conceal themselves.
