Okay, first up FINALLY we're getting a Nick Fury focused story. Took you long enough MCU. Second point making Secret Invasion a Spy Thriller, BRILLIANT! I'm honestly amazed that no one at Marvel for the Original Secret Invasion thought of that as it makes perfect sense. It's an invasion that's happening all around us and yet no one knows of it so it makes sense to have it be more like a Spy Thriller with THE Spy of Marvel at the heart of the story.
This seems to be getting the full Captain America: Civil War treatment with Marvel taking an otherwise unpopular story and remaking it into something that not only looks good but may even be great. At this time it's to early to really tell if it's going to live up to the hype that it's already getting but it LOOKS really good. The cast is solid and idea is already a VAST improvement over the comic it's based on.

Well in universe it's been over a few decades at least plus after the snap they were likely hit hard by it so many of them began to become desperate and tried to turn things around to better suit them.

True but weren't they cool with fury in far from home? Hmm maybe whatever Fury was doing ended so badly that he and the skrulls end up coming to blows. Out of universe I do think have a race of alien shape shifters make more sense to use them as baddies with the occasional good member.
