Lower Decks Season 3
Doesn't anyone want to talk about the latest season? I love it so far.

Re: Lower Decks Season 3
One bit I particularly liked was the bootleg rpg with Martok GMing, sounded like the actor was having a blast.

The character dynamics have been much improved, and overall it's been a lot more enjoyable. They should probably be careful with the "The Real Story happened somewhere else" thing. It's a great gag, and is inherently part of the premise, but it's also narratively unsatisfying so it works best when used sparingly and the real real story is the main story for our band of heroes.
It's definitely the least stressful of the current shows to watch.

I'd say quite a bit of the Season 2 big story was the real story.Deledrius wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 7:42 pm The character dynamics have been much improved, and overall it's been a lot more enjoyable. I'm very much liking Lower Decks. It did the cliched thing of getting off to a bad start (not good when you've not got many episodes in a season) but it sorted that out fairly rapidly, and it's definitely found its own feet and its own place.

Yeah, I agree. I was talking about this season specifically, where they've done it twice (IIRC) already, most notably with the premiere. I think it was just weird to have it resolved like that, because it was taking such a front seat on the show before. Funny, but too quick. It was a bit of a mixed result for me. I get the joke, obviously, but it was also unsatisfying. I did really enjoy the message at the end there, so it was fine overall.

So far I am entertained. Nothing truly stands out to me.
The Martok RPG is great though. I want one!

I got nothing to say here.

I have played those types of games. I kinda meant an RPG where the 'DM' was a character from Trek like Martok and semi interacts with you.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 2:33 amStar Trek: The Next Generation Interactive VCR Board Game
VCR games in the 90's can really only be played a handful of times before you just bullshit.
I got nothing to say here.

Reflections was def the first truly excellent episode of the season since the opener. Really decent remix of Picard's character with both a nod to his past and to one of his ex's.
