Should Namaari be Counted as a Disney Princess?

Last month Raya, from Raya and the Last Dragon, was made into an official Disney Princess which I'm glad because I actually enjoy the film but I do wonder if Raya adversary aka Her Unofficial Love Interest Namaari should be included in the Disney Princess Lineup too.
I mean, she's a princess, she's in a Disney Princess film and she's pretty popular with fans. It also would be interesting as she would be the first Disney Princess who started off as a villain only to turn hero at the end. Thoughts?

I find it odd that we even have Disney princesses in 2022. Seems very old fashioned.

Isn't being a main protagonist the central requirement? Being an actual princess isn't one.

A greater question is whether Leia counts.

I've honestly got no idea why this is even relevant in any degree or to anyone? Somebody care to explain?

Wouldn't it be more entertaining to watch gras grow? I mean, seriously, this feels to me like a discussion about how white a white wall-paper is. I can't even fathom on where to start to get an angle of understanding for this concept. I mean, knock yourselves out, to each his/her own. It's just so completely baffling to me that I can't help but wonder.

Does popularity actually have anything to do with it?

Well keep in mind that Frozen, which is basically part of the Disney Princess Franchise, does include Elsa as a DP along with her sister even though she's not the main protagonist in the first film. In fact out of all the main characters Elsa has the least amount of screen time and the overall least impact on the plot.
Namaari is in essence the other main character in Raya as she has the same amount of screen time, the most overall development and is the one who ultimately saves the day. But it's really Elsa being considered a Princess that got me thinking this.

No, she wasn't made by Disney and Disney and Lucas Film seem to have this weird mentality of being Anti-Princess when it comes to Leia in Star Wars. Yeah, it's weird everything in this part of the Disney Era gets REALLY defensive when it comes to Leia being a Princess. Like I remember someone working on TLJ being asked why Leia wasn't considered a Princess getting really angry at even the mention of it and had this minute long rant about how they don't want Leia to be called a Princess anymore.
It's weird.

Why do fans wonder who would win in a fist fight between Superman and Hulk? Why do fans debate who is the richest Superhero in both DC and Marvel? Why after all these years do fans want a crossover between Star Wars and Star Trek? Because we think about these things. We love to speculate about silly things because it's fun.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Fangirl be curious. I love the DP series as it's one I've grown up with the most and therefore have the strongest connection to.

While the film did under perform at the box office due to being released during the pandemic as soon as it was made available for everyone on Disney+ it became a huge hit there and Raya herself is pretty popular so I would say that it was popular enough to warrant making Raya part of the series.
And yes popularity has a big part in it. For all the flaws of and the mixed reception of Pocahontas it was a huge hit at the box office and Pocahontas herself became hugely popular with fans.
Going back to what I said about Frozen I'm honestly surprised Disney hasn't fully made Anna and Elsa into full blown Princesses as they're treated as such and their films are hugely popular and have been major hits at the box office.
