So, I Watched The Marvels While at Walt Disney World and...

I had a great time. Honestly this was a fun film. The action was creative, the characters were likeable, the jokes were funny and it has kitties. What's not to like?
The film also fixes a number of problems I had with the first Captain Marvel film, namely Captain Marvel herself. Brie Larson is a good actor who can be charismatic and engaging but for some reason she just wasn't in CM or to be more accurate she wasn't Carol Danvers. In the comics and most other series Carol is, well simply put, a dork. She's a badass but as true to most Marvel heroes she spends more time fumbling around trying to figure out what to do next but tends to keep a positive attitude.
I didn't get that in the first film but I did feel that way in this film. Larson does a much better job with this film then she did with the last, being more adorakable instead of a stoic. There's nothing wrong with being a stoic it's just not in character for Carol and here Carol is so much more fun which makes the film so much more engaging.
Monica, played by Teyonah Parris, is also great as she brings in a lot of what made her so engaging in WandaVision and she does such a great job of being the straight man in contrast to the other two Marvels.
But of course the real scene stealer is Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. She is the heart and soul of this film and is the main reason I was so interested in seeing the movie. I felt that she did a great job in Ms. Marvel and she's even better here.
I also love how all three characters have their own arc and it never feels like one of the three is the main character with the other two as glorified side characters. No, all three three feel like Equals and none of them overshadow the other. Helping matters is the chemistry between the 3, you really get the sense that two of them have a history and the other is the new kid that they have to protect without her ever feeling like The Load.
While the film doesn't have the emotional punch of other MCU films (this is NOT a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) I don't see that as a bad thing. This film seeks to be nothing more then a fun popcorn flick that lets you spend time with fun characters in a fun action film and that's what makes it great.
I honestly had a lot of fun with this and if you haven't checked it out by now, I say do so, you'll likely have a fun time.
