Okay, first off BRILLIANT name for a sequel to the original film. For those who don't know in order to summon Beetlejuice you have to speak his name 3 times, so the first film is Beetlejuice's name only spoken once while the sequel it's used twice. I bow before whoever thought of that it's brilliant and, likely untentional, a nice ripoff other films that are reboots, sequels or reboot sequels that just reuse the name of the first film. I LOVE IT!!!
Now, onto the trailer, this looks really promising. Tim Burton saw a massive decline in the quality of his work as he seemingly tried to move away from his original style of a Dark Fairy Tale and tried to make more lighthearted films like Big Fish or Edward Scissorhands. Though I did enjoy those films I prefer Burton's style that we saw in Beetlejuice and Batman as it was uniquely Burton. It's likely not a surprised that Burton's most popular project in recent years was Wednesday which was a return to form for the director.
Thus I'm honestly really hopeful for this film because Burton is again making a film that fit his original style while working with actors he's comfortable with. This honestly feels like a Tim Burton film instead of a film made by Tim Burton.
Time will tell if the film is as good as I hope it is but right now I like how this is shaping up.
