Was Eda Inspired By Ryoko from Tenchi Muyot

I was just re-watching the first episode of Tenchi Universe and there's a moment in the first episode where Ryoko kicks a small (aka a human size) mecha off a cliff and as she does so, in the English dub she says "BYYYYEEEEE!"

And it was at that moment I realized how much Ryoko both looked and sounded like Eda from The Owl House. Both have a similar hair style, same general personality and Wendie Malick even sounds a little like Mona Marshall. No real debate or deeper meaning here just something I noticed while watching an anime I hadn't seen in a while.

I wouldn't be surprised if so. I remember a YouTuber I watch pointing it out in her Tench Universe review. https://youtu.be/8NA8sPKW4b0?feature=shared&t=4203
