Full disclosure, I know nothing about the Ark Series prior to this show. I know it has Dinosaurs, Vin Diesel, was set on an island and there's some guy named Bob who lives on a beach and that's it and I don't even know if half of that is right.

So, when I talk about the Animated series adaptation of these games please note that I know nothing about the games and I'm completely ignorant about the lore of the series. So my only understanding is from the show, and not the game. But from what I understand from fans of the games this is a very poor representation of the series, getting tons of minor and major details wrong in both the characters and the lore as a whole. But speaking as someone who went in with no real knowledge of the series and thus seeing at as solely a standalone story I really enjoyed this show.

It's no masterpiece of Television, the voice acting is mostly weak because many of these actors have done little to no voice acting and I'm not a fan of the more jittery animation where everything seems to be moving at a slower frame rate that's been cropping up a lot in recent years. But other then that it was overall pretty good. I ended up caring for these characters, the action scenes were fun and I want to know what happens next. I know I'm enjoying something when I don't stop watching/reading/playing it for several hours without realizing several hours have past which happened here.

I'm not saying that fans of the games are wrong for what they feel, lord knows I've seen enough video games and comic books get butchered in film adaptations to know what they feels like. Especially when the people making them keep going on about how this is just like the game/comic and it's clear they've never played/read them and only have a superficial understanding of it.

At the same time, story should be able to stand on it's own and being something different from the original is not always a bad thing. But that doesn't mean that fans have to change their opinions and I would rather they stuck to how they felt.

So, speaking as someone who knows nothing about the games I enjoyed this show and look forward to how it all turns down the road but I get why fans of the games don't like it and feel for you and hope that one day you get an adaptation worthy of the game you love.
