How come sfdebris hasn't reviewed Netflix Arcane???
Season one is considered one of the best-written animated shows ever made now, even though it is based on a game. And the best part is that you don't have to play the game to understand the show. The show shows you the world and lets the audience learn how this world works in a more natural state. And there is EP 3 which just left everyone floored.

Likely because no one has requested it yet or it has been requested and Chuck just hasn't gotten around to it yet. Chuck is a busy guy, he's gotten a lot of reviews to get to and try to keep them uploading on a weekly bases.
The show is interesting in terms of a video game adaptation though, generally speaking video game adaptations are, well, not considered great. Not that their universally bad or anything I like Mortal Combat, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider was how I was introduced to the series (though I wouldn't play the games and become a fan until A Survivor is Born) and in terms of TV adaptations we did get a lot of fun series like Pokemon, Digimon and of course Castlevania.
But in terms of genuine works of art that had people in tears that showed what a Video Game Adaptation should be the first season of Arcane is pretty much one of a kind. The show is seen by many, myself included, on par with classics like Star Wars, Star Trek, The Lord of the Rings, Batman and Mass Effect. It really is a great show in it's own right and doesn't require you to play the game to understand what's going on.
I was hugely influenced myself when writing my Tomb Raider animated series both for it's amazing art-style which beautifully blends 2D and 3D animation but also it's compelling character arcs and almost Greek Tragedy storytelling.
It's honestly sad that season 2 just couldn't match the quality of the first season, IMO with more clunky storytelling, rushed pacing and wasted characters, ideas and confusing story choices.
Still, better then most other video game adaptations which but sadly doesn't rise to what the series already proved it was capable of.

I wouldn't be surprised if it has been requested. SF Debris is awesome but the whole destruction of his house combined with the massive move of his videos means that it still will be years before he's handling completely new material.
Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Old Republic for example.
I'll wait another ten years if I have to but I'm not sure if he's gotten everything back up.

It's times like this I wish I had the skills of a master web designer. I have this idea for a website that's sort of a combination between YouTube, old school Deviant Art and Archive of Our Own to be a place where content creators, artists and fan fic writers can have a place to post their stuff.
It would be prettier then most other sites, allowing creators to customize their channels to their preference with just as much focus on presentation as making the site user friendly. And as a bounce, there would be a dedicated team who's job is to help creators upload their old content onto the site at no extra cost so all anyone had to do is focus on new stuff.
And try to make it so creators don't have to worry to much about copyright strikes so they don't have to edit their videos down to a WTF amount.
If I ever become rich and famous this is will be on my to do list and get people who know what they're doing to make it happen.
Working name for it is Masquerade because that's basically what the internet is, the Masquerade ball from Hell.
But in all seriousness I do what a site like this to be real JUST to give reviewers like Chuck and Linkara less work so they can focus on what they want to do.

We need a new DeviantArt there is no question of that.Winter wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 8:48 am It's times like this I wish I had the skills of a master web designer. AI has ruined it. Pure and simple. Anything that you search for, anything at all, the first few pages will be identical looking AI pictures. To get the actual art, you need to go on a voyage now. They seem to have removed most if not all keyword search functionality too. You used to be able to divide it up between photos, renders, drawings, paintings etc.
Right now, I'm increasingly not sure as to what the fear of AI art is. It's quick, cheap and easy, I get that, but most of it really does look kind of shit. You can very much tell that it is fake. A lot of it looks as if it's one face transposed onto one body type.

It's really simple. Arcane came out less than four years ago. Best case scenario, someone requested it the same day the series was released, and it got put in the queue behind all the other non-trek animation. This queue is apparently the longest queue. Beyond that, it is also the queue that keeps getting copyright claimed, on top of Chuck's "I gotta move again". To give you an idea on the length, Chuck's first review of Mahoromatic came out in 2016. Because of shenanigans, he ended up re-issuing the review in 2022 and completed the series in 2023.thisithis wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 4:55 am Season one is considered one of the best-written animated shows ever made now, even though it is based on a game. Anyone who entered that queue in 2021 is going to be waiting a long time. Maybe it will be less long now that Chuck seems fairly settled on YouTube. Maybe the algorithm with shift slightly and he'll have to move to dailymotion again.

We should invite Chuck to a party and then reveal he's not allowed to leave until he uploads everything we want.
...
Shit, I shouldn't have said that aloud.

Should the party be at a mansion or hotel? Personally I would like to throw the trap party at one of the Disney Parks as Lord almighty I need a vacation.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 11:39 pm We should invite Chuck to a party and then reveal he's not allowed to leave until he uploads everything we want.

I assume it has to be a mansion of the Agatha Christie style.
Therefore we eventually start knocking each other off over which things we want uploaded first before Chuck plots his escape.

Well in that case let's make sure not to bring our rocket-boots otherwise he'll have figured out his escape right away.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 10:47 am I assume it has to be a mansion of the Agatha Christie style.
