so, this is a thing that i came across a few weeks ago, and holey damn it impressed me. i can't remember anything that's had such a perfect mix of comedy and drama. the characters are exaggerated, but engaging; they feel real. the jokes are funny, but not too funny; they feel like natural reactions of the characters to their situation, rather than contrivances of writers for the benefit of the audience. and the setup, with little hints of world-building make me want to know more.

if they can maintain the same tone for the actual series proper, i think this show could really be something special.
