I would have changed the Last of Us 2's ending *SPOILERS*

I feel TLOU2's ending is cowardly.

Seriously, I feel like the problem is that the first game has one of the best endings of all time and there's a reason that it's remembered so fondly. It's also why internet gamers keep trying to say the Firefly's cure wouldn't work because they WANT to agree with Joel without acknowledging that it is horrible consequences.

The sequel?

The sequel's ending is bullshit.

I get what the ending is going for. Cycles of Revenge. Abby and Ellie are the same. Blah blah blah. But the ending where Ellie leaves Dina to go after Abby needed a different coda. It needed Ellie to find Abby....and finish her off.

And then when she returns to Dina and finds her baby gone, that she's destroyed her life.

And she's okay with that.

Hate over love.

Maybe we'll see Lev outside of her home, maybe Lev is the only one who can put down their gun.

Because that is the kind of ugliness and beauty that the Last of Us needs.
