How old is too old for an actor?

I mean in one of the man with no name movies, I think the good the bad and the ugly they use the skeleton of a dead actress for one of the scenes.

And she nailed it as a skeleton.

Is this the same story as the skeleton was thought to be fake and was used as a prop until someone more knowledgable figured it was the real deal?

Trying to remember that one horror movie where they actually used real skeletons be cause it was cheaper at the time then the fake ones.
