Ooh, RWBY! I've been following the show since about 2016 when the first three volumes were on Netflix. While the beginning is... rough and Volume Four feels like so much filler, on the whole, I like it.

Quickfire thoughts:

Neo is best Villain. Fight me.

The soundtracks and scores are some of the best around. The opening themes are always a highlight.

Volume Six actually has probably one of the best written LGBT couples in animation, if not fiction. RT's secret for writing such a good couple... is writing them LIKE A COUPLE! No metaphors, no dancing around the topic, and neither of them end up dead, it's just Jaune going 'This is my sister, this is my sister-in-law, and this is my little nephew' and that's it! See? It's not that hard. Just take the usual hetero couple and change one of their genders! That's it! This isn't Rocket Surgery! GAH!!!

Sorry, I just got done skimming through Steven Universe and that wishy-washy tripe, that can't even say 'I now pronounce you wife and wife' at a lesbian wedding, being praised for LGBT rep while this simple elegance is ignored just kills me.

The animation gets better by around Volume Three, by-the-by. That's when they swapped rendering engines and got a proper budget. And the first Volume is only about two hours-ish, so it's easy to get to the better stuff.

Anyway, I highly recommend that everyone at least gives the show a chance. You may be surprised.

The one problem with RWBY is would be the connection of myth-making and character development of how the story goes like Oum's mini-series RWBY-mini-tales, about the 4 maidens, old wizard, the Brother Gods who are definitely "not" the Grimm Brothers and the identity of color = identity contrast.
Do not pity a Slave for the Slave-Lord, but hear the power of what Chaos can be.
All Beings bow before the children of he who bound their flesh by their words.
Fall and wail, all flesh, bone, soul,& power is a servant to Yun-man, the First Slave-Lord.
