I dunno, I look at how awful certain people can be, and... meh. It just seems too much of a pipe dream.

The increase of Scientific knowlecge is a Virtue, but the Video males it sound bland and depressing.

Still, the largest galaxy in the universe. Simply amazing. When I think of galaxy busters from fiction, like with Gurren Lagann, the Xeeleeverse, or characters from comics, I always think to this monsters - 50 times bigger than our galaxy, which is already massive in and of itself. Simply... wow.

I wonder, provided we Dyson Sphered every star system, how many people could live in this mega galaxy? Probably a number so ridiculously big that you'd just have to use scientific notation to capture.

That's nothing. The Culture thinks you could use artificial planets spread across a galaxy to shield said galaxy - like a literal galactic force field. Is such a thing even possible? If so, it's way beyond our current science.
