I'm bringing this up at this timeline because...well, it's shockingly recent. It's within living memory. It's a reminder that it's a little to soon to pat our backs about how equal society has become, and some of the people who fought against these changes are in the senate now.

Do you realize there was a huge push by women to become admitted into the ranks of garbage collectors, and the old guard fought back against it tooth and nail?

Second wave struck me as the coldest fishes ever, but in their defense, we don't know their story. Who knows? Perhaps a high majority of them had been abused. Very sad but possible.

That's what people said when the suffragettes got the vote and people wanted to oppose the changes I listed.

I didn't know that. But I don't really see how that's relevant, either. People wanting equal representation now shouldn't just want the gravy spot, if equality is really what they're after.

It is relevant because you LITERALLY ASKED WHY WE DEMAND MORE WOMEN BE CEOS BUT NOT GARBAGE COLLECTORS.
AND I TELL YOU THAT YES, WE FOUGHT AND PUSHED FOR WOMEN TO BE ALLOWED TO BE GARBAGE COLLECTORS.
AND WHEN I REFUTE THE VERY EXAMPLE YOU BROUGHT UP TO SHOW UNFAIRNESS YOU SAY "THAT ISN'T RELEVANT".

My God, he's gone to caps-lock!

Fuzzy, when was this push to get more women garbage collectors? More importantly, is it ongoing?

There is an ongoing push for more women CEOs. If there was a push toward women garbage collectors in the 60s but people stopped pushing for that, and now push for the prize jobs but not the dirty jobs, then the people now pushing for women CEOs in the name of equality are still hypocrites.

Alright I"ll have to go back for more research to see if it is still ongoing.

Idunno isn't garbage people in particular a weird comparison for consideration between aspirations? I guess I mean to say that I would think that there are probably more women aspiring for CEO positions than garbage collectors (could be wrong! No offense really), which is more the concern than the outcome (equality) not favoring more equitable numbers. Certainly there could be more women trying to get a job in the garbage service industry, but I feel like the issue is more about qualified people pursuing jobs, more so specifically than people just looking for work in any available sector.
