Frankly, we feel like an idiotic race that deserves extinction. We're all dying in the end, so what does it matter how we get there. And someday we'll probably wipe ourselves out. Perhaps it's kinder to speed up that process.

We deserve neither life nor extinction. We are what we make ourselves. Whatever end we find, it will be ourselves as the architects.

We should all seek to be better.

So what's with this prevailing idea in this thread that nihilism is inherently a bad thing? I'm an atheist. I believe there is nothing after you die but oblivion. There is no plan, no meaning, no design because everything is just a consequence of random chance put forth billions of years ago. Frankly, if you believe that there is no God or afterlife, then nihilism is just a natural link in a chain. The only thing that matters in life is what you do with it.
I think that is one of the reasons why religion has always been popular. It shields you from the truth.
