I am curious where you get this notion. Of course there were people who opposed the war for various reasons. The US population in 1941 was about 133 million. Odds are you would be correct. I am not seeing the issue here.MithrandirOlorin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 9:47 pmYa know, we've argued to far off topic.
The actual point of the OP I care about (which I have revised the original blog from the form it's in here) is about the Absurdity of online leftists refusing to acknowledge you could be Left Wing and still not support this specific War.
I have no idea what I would be thinking if I were actually alive at the time. What I'm agaisnt is the revisionism that pretends Left Wing Pacifastin didn't exist in this time period.
The Left was Anti-War even during the lead up to WW2 (and the Right was not)

I got nothing to say here.

Twitter Leftists and Breadtubers constantly equate being Anti-War with Isolationism and at least mild Nazi Sympathies. To them the sole face of American Pacifism at this time was Charles Limburg.McAvoy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 1:06 amI am curious where you get this notion. Rachel Maddow spread a frigggn Conspiracy Theory about Hamilton Fish being a Naiz Spy even though he was a Zionist.

I watch a handful of YouTubers that get accused of being breadtubers and I've never seen this attitude. Are you thinking of someone specific?
Twitter I believe but I'd believe you found people saying absolutely anything on Twitter.

Maggie Mae Fish did it in her Joseph Campbell video and her McCarthyism video. Apparently she's a relative of Hamilton Fish yet still believes the worst accusations against him.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 5:56 am I watch a handful of YouTubers that get accused of being breadtubers and I've never seen this attitude. Caleb Maupin is weird in that he loves to talk about the Popular Front and Foster and pretending the CPUSA was consistently for intervention the whole time, ignoring the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.

Caleb Maupin is a right-wing provocateur funded by the Kremlin. It's not any kind of secret either, he worked directly for RT for a while although I think one of his many sexual assault allegations cost him that job.

I follow several breadtubers and none of them I’m aware of have made any comment on equating opposition to ‘just’ wars as isolationist. They’re mostly anti-imperialist, so it’s rare that they support many wars at all aside from supporting those opposing imperialist invasion.

Breadtubers are scum of the earth bottom feeders but I doubt any of them support wars and invasions.
Hasan does but he's not a Breadtuber, he's a twitch streamer. Which is 2000x worse than a Breadtuber.

Yeah most of Breadtube consider "Anti-Imperialist" a pro Putin dog whistle.CmdrKing wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 6:40 pm I follow several breadtubers and none of them I’m aware of have made any comment on equating opposition to ‘just’ wars as isolationist. That’s the precise opposite of what I said.

Again, Cmdr... don't argue with him, he cannot, will not, refuses, to change his mind and will argue anything. Logic cannot save you.
