I grew up in the 90's so my personal interest in cartoons falls into the typical, "Batman: TAS", "Animaniacs", "Gargoyles", along with others that people have heard of plenty of times.

I was also a fan of a lot of cartoons that while good, I would argue get way overshadowed. I am going to list some of those.
"Freakazoid", while not unknown, it did not run nearly as long as its peers, it has not seen new life or revival, and in spite of it being about a superhero who is from the internet... I don't think it has ever been on a streaming service. I feel this thing (along with "Captain Planet") is due for a comeback more than any other property.

"Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot", this is one that has been reviewed by Chuck, and I frankly feel like he is under selling it. Maybe it just found my personal grove at the time it was out, but I still hold this show up as a personal favorite.

"Sam and Max: Freelance Police", this has also been reviewed. I recently rewatched the entire series as it was hosted on youtube. It holds up.

"Extreme Ghostbusters" was a surprisingly good show. I imagine a lot of dipshits will look at it today and say, "Look at them trying to be inclusive" or whatever. But watching it at the time, the inclusive nature of the cast was a big check mark in the positives for me, it allowed them to comment on things like bigotry, and they did a good job of weaving that into the show. It was also just slat out scary at time. There is an episode where they battle the (non-copyright infringing) Cenobites.

And two movie tie ins, the 90's "Godzilla" which is a sequel to the movie (and is infinitely better) and the "Men in Black" cartoon which... Honestly could have been a lot better, but there are several ideas and jokes (especially in the later seasons) that elevate it considerably.

This god damned thing refuses to just post the videos.

MMPR is my childhood favorite (unlike Doug back then I didn't feel too old for it) but I didn't mention it because it's not cartoon. I do feel that those 1st three seasons haven't aged that well compared to what those were adapted from (Super Sentai) and what come after it in franchise like Power Rangers In Space and Time Force that are still good even today.

It's... the very first word of the thread's title...

Right. What I should have said was that I was reading the title in full right before I posted that and didn't know what cartoon means...

I am willing to say Power Rangers is a cartoon in spirit, if not in the literal use of the medium of animation.

I was thinking the same thing in a deflection of accountability, but no biggie. Also though, kid's show... cartoon one watched as a child... a conspicuous degree of overlap there.

Anyways, for that matter, thread's over a month old, in which case I normalized it in my own head as a kids show thread, without giving frontal lobe attention to the title.

This does show that in west animation still has that stigma of being only for kids and being same as kids' program or kids' movie instead of being just another way to tell stories. Back in day I remember seeing some anime that wasn't for kids (some of those even adult material) displayed on kids' shelf just because those happened to be animated.
