I know I had to fillout a draft card in 1989. But no longer have it due to serving. I know we currently don't draft. But I think as otherwise mentioned it is still possible.Mecha82 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 7:37 pmAre drafts still thing in US? I thought that US had fully went to paid army over forcefully drafting people some were after Vietnam.Nealithi wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 1:15 pmEdit: Oh and I think the argument on women in the military is they should have draft cards too.Mecha82 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 11:59 am Don't women already serve in US military and it's branches? I had impression that they do but they are rarely allowed to combat zones which isn't they fault but fault of those that think they are weak.
After all there are those Americans among both men and women to whom military career seems to be only option to get forward in life because of how much system is stacked against them and in America military is paid army with most of country's budget going towards it rather than to other important things that would help American people.
Then again US government and rich in there need willing people that they can send to die in what ever war they want to have in order to keep profiting from war while propaganda makes seem like it's for they country.
Those things said. I like most things it is a mixed bag. On one hand the military gets to be choosier on who it recruits and you have a higher caliber of serviceman. On the other, I think if we had a draft then congress would have a bigger fire to get us out of the mid east and other conflicts. Nothing ever seems to be straight forward.
