Not that dangerous (although it depends where you live). Certainly not dangerous enough to justify nanny state policies.

Re: Holier-than-thou virtue-signaling on the left?
Ironic that far right people and libetarians that are so against government and being watched at are willing to stick they noses to other people's businesses tell others what they can and can't do. It's people like that that are anti-choice and homophobic.

@Riedquat Okay, I could accept that argument, that given our placement as a First World nation, arguably the richest, that is not justified. Especially since I am acting on fear because of Muslim jihadists and Russian expansion, mostly based on my Feminist views. And terrified people are easy to manipulate. Even so, let's discuss this. If terrorism and Russian expansion are enough to justify this.

Actually libertarians aren't real big on the whole sticking their noses in other peoples' business thing. You seem to have us confused with someone else, like Republicans or Democrats.

So you identify as a true Libertarian. I can respect that, lol. Still, what about abortion? I think the ONLY way government gets a say is if they fund it, then they have a place at the table to debate who pays for it. That's all. And different people have different views.

It's interesting you should mention that, because one of the big spats going on about that actually is over government funding for abortion clinics. The more vocal parts of the pro-choice side act like if the government stops funding it that this means they are banning it. I always found that kind of odd. In any case I come down on the side of bodily autonomy. Whatever arguments are made, it comes down to forcing someone to bear a child against their will.

Well, hmmm... if they stop funding it, I guess people could still pay for it, but damned if that's not expensive. I do consider the moralistic argument that it is a public health issue to be valid, because they are inevitably going to get it. And they should get proper care or they will die.

Sad truth is, though, that everything is a public health issue. And you can't save everyone.
