Nah, I remember the internet of 20 years ago and there was noticeably less of a push to push political causes into otherwise-entertaining forums. Even 10 years ago there was a lot less. Not saying it was absolutely absent, either, but at least on the message boards I hung out on at the time, it was hardly a constant occurrence.

Doesn't matter because all the art would have to be linked because the vast majority of users would be on dial-up modems, and anyone sharing video links would be sure to remind everyone to "right-click, save as" or you'll wreck their website's bandwidth for the month.

I actually had DSL pre 2000, so enjoy downloading 15-20 minutes per mp3.
