Is this news? Historians have known that for decades.

The article is probably taking it too far, but it's aimed at people who think Nazism was efficient I guess. Either way though, not exactly a revelation.

Well, it's in the "General Discussions"-section and not the "News"-section, so I guess... No?

But let's disregard the irrelevancy of the linked article for now and appreciate the beauty of the moment. After all, Fuzzy finally got something right.

My understanding since we've discussed this matter in the Patterns of Force review thread is that he built a house of cards.

If the Axis had won then he probably would have had enough territory in the form of occupied countries in order to prosper, but his military development made sustainable economic prosperity dependent upon a freakin war.

I guess people attribute Trump to being similar to him not just in his so-called "populist" rhetoric, but in how his government is a sham, run by a man who knows nothing about politics. But that's where it ends, because while Trump would like to take tyrannical overtures, like executing those who speak out against him, or "disappearing" people, to further his agenda, make more money, etc... he can't. The law and those around him REALLY hold him back. System of checks and balances, people. I'm more worried about what he's unleashed, and how the Democrats are responding to it, but what can you do?

Hitler knew far more about politics than Trump does.

Trump isn't ideological enough to be like Hitler, not to mention Hitler actually liked to read.

Regardless, I don't think the article was trying to equate Trump with Hitler; looks like the author is just promoting his new book with an excerpt.

Well, tbf, everyone liked to read back then because there was literally nothing else to do! Past radio or TV, which was really in its infancy. Trust me, if Hitler had come from the era of streaming, online services, mass-cultural entertainment, and so on and so forth, he wouldn't have read either.

Really? Dude, do something for your horizon and broaden your knowledge, because this is just painful to read.

It's how I relate to most people sadly. They'd really just look at pretty moving images and turn their brains off than actually, you know... process information on a page. Me, I love to read, but it's sadly becoming a lost form of entertainment.

Hitler read a lot because he liked to read. Lots of people back then, including many of his fellow Nazi's, did not.

Hitler had very narrow intellectual and cultural interests, but he devoured books and theatre and movies when he could.

Trump basically watches Fox and occasionally watches movies, otherwise he prefers to play golf or talk business. Even Steve Bannon said that when he first met Trump, the guy knew almost nothing about policy or politics and the only topic that piqued his interest was China, and even then most of what Trump said on China he learnt from Fox News.

I can't imagine Trump inviting his political party to the opera and getting mad that nobody showed up, then forcing them to attend and getting mad AGAIN because they all fell asleep. Yet, that's exactly what Hitler did, because that's the sort of person Hitler was.
