Is the Internet helping to reduce crime? (Acting as a place to vent off our darker impulses?)

No, seriously. Online you're finding all sorts of twisted darkness, that in the past, in the real world, would have been vented off in the real world, sadly. In today's world, you can go online and check out anything to your heart's desire! Pornhub, a place for all types of erotic motion pictures or animated pictures, or places with custom-geared fetishes. I mean, vore seems to be experiencing a renaissance like nothing seen ever before, and I thank the Internet. How many people of past decades would have felt that too if they had only had their "sexual awakening" moment? And yet, I can't help but wonder through all this, is the Internet in some ways helping to REDUCE crime? Kind of a supplement to the other, "Will VR reduce crime and act as a safe spot for dark impulses?" thread. I mean, the Internet in today's world is a crude, less sophisticated form of what VR will be, Internet in your brain, with full range of sensory input and output. But it's still connected the world, and you begin to see how lost, screwed up, and even outright insane some people are (like myself), and that even if they're not criminals, just harmless with their dark impulses, it's not normal, and they need healthy ways to deal with it. Is the Internet one healthy way?
