Forum Positivity Thread

Post by Yukaphile »

While I'm taking my break, I'm also adding the caveat to only be positive the brief times I appear.

Thus, this is what it appears. Say something nice about the forum members.

I'll start.

For one, I don't doubt we're all sci-fi fans. We clearly have a love for good sci-fi, even if we radically disagree on what that constitutes. No one has to "prove" they are a "true" fan here. I think everyone here, despite our bickering, is a good person in at least one way: We haven't committed any sins, or major crimes. If somebody has, I don't doubt for a second for somebody here that it would have been in the controlled context of say, only killing somebody for self-defense, or stealing to survive, which I think is justified. Not saying anyone has, but I don't think anyone here is bad. At worst, average. I also think everyone here is critical-thinking and intelligent, which is great for a nerd community. For those left of center, your passionate views on social justice and change are quite an inspiration. And for those right of center, your willingness to stand up for your beliefs and your tolerance (in particular, I am thinking how Darth Wedgius gave me another chance) is also remarkable too. I think everyone here is interesting and contributes something valuable to this forum. Even SSJGodGoku is a passionate Dragon Ball fan who while, let's be honest, is slanted towards a certain way, still is deeply dedicated to defending the fandom he loves. I could greatly relate to that.

So that's my take on it. What do you guys think?

(If anyone goes negative, would a mod please lock this?)
