SF Debris on 3d printing and high-custom electronics?

Post by King Green »

If this is a bad or irrelevant post, say Nay and I will trash it in a month or so.

I been window-web shopping recently and looking various hardware and extension upgrades for my old-gen 2010 laptop, though Dell company can't make anymore of the parts I need and have to custom-adapt with new-gen hardware for my soon dying laptop, a thought came to mind;

"Should I get 3d printer parts and custom my own electronics for my part-time paying-hobby?"

As it would be awesome and gold-shit expensive to support a 3d printer on long-term basis, the hardware market for old-gen parts are getting scary limited. Naturally I don't want to commit to the 3d-printing community yet, being a grey-collar worker is already having me focus on rent and food. If I sit on it for 10 or 15 years, maybe 3d printers will be more legal-stable and cost-effective for the majority.

But now to the important question for you lot:

"Should SF Debris join the 3d printing club and build his own electronics in his spare time?"

Discuss this post need be? Information is the primary currency in this day and age.
