Is there much that happens in any of the Bourne movies?

I feel like there's not much in the way of theme going on within proximity of the plot. It's fascinating how they made a MacGuffin out of the protagonist, but they were able to run that out for like 4 movies after the first one? I feel like asking the question about if they hold up, Patrick Willems style, but he probably has a video about how great they all are.
I feel like they are technically as redundant as the Terminator movies, yet distilled enough so to speak as to not wear itself out.

They're an excuse for relatively realistic flashy movie violence. If you're looking for meaningful emotion, developed characterization, or plot complexity, you're looking in the wrong place.
It's a different flavor of "cool spy stuff" than Bond, but nothing more than that. Lots of frosting, little cake.

James Bond does feel like the Enterprise after a battle at the end of his movies.
