I don't know why the old thread was deleted and I thought the conversation with the one user was just about to make me understand what I was missing. So, I'm gonna remake the thread.
Watching the new DreamWorks' film, The Bad Guys, got me thinking about this again.
Lots of people have said to those like me that Antagonists in MLP and other kids shows don't get punished because they feel bad about their actions and want to make amends. Well, so did the titular Bad Guys but they still are sent to prison in the end. They only spend a year in prison on account of good behavior but that's beside the point.

So... isn't that what you wanted? Are you happy about this ending? Does this represent a positive trend to you? I legitimately am not sure what you're saying.

It's only one movie, so far, maybe it will represent a new trend in the future, it has been only a month but the new MLP has already shown it's going with the absolute forgiveness route.

I mean, The Bad Guys is made for teenagers and adults who already understand moral complexity and the storytelling tropes it's playing with. MLP is presenting Entry Level Conflict Resolution to actual kindergartners. Walk before you run and all that.

The creators of the new generation of MLP said it was going to be more mature and complex, they obviously lied.

And I realized something else about Discord from the previous generation of MLP, it's always about people accepting that he is a toxic jerk and he never changes. Maybe leaning to accept him for who he is would be good for one episode. but it's always this way. Apparently, toxic assholes don't need to change but everyone around them needs to change.

well, I don't always call for characters to be punished and can justify, at least to my self, some cases of Easily Forgiven and Karma Houdini but I just don't know why I can't do that for MLP and want someone to help me see where I'm going wrong.

What your doing wrong is your still talking. Your never ever going to fine a satisfactory answer, and at this point your going to annoy people.
