YouTube Science Channels

Post by MadAmosMalone »

There are a lot of good science channels on YouTube these days. Some of my favorites are

John Michael Godier

Fraser Cain

Joe Scott (Answers with Joe)

I've also been binging Curious Droid videos this weekend.

This guy is a member of this very forum, Isaac Arthur, and he is possibly my favorite of all of them.

There is also PBS SpaceTime, SpaceRip and others,

Isaac Arthur is great once you get used to his impediment. I've been subbed to him since last year. Curious Droid is well worth watching IMO too.

Not so science-y but I love AvE; mostly tools and machining but sometimes he tips his hand and shows some book-learning behind it all: https://www.youtube.com/user/arduinoversusevil

This subject is probably 50% of my subscriptions, but I'll try to keep it short. ;)

It's Okay to be Smart: A general science topic show.
Braincraft: A neuropsychology-focused science show.
SciShow: A general science news and events show. It also has companion channels: SciShow Psych for psychology and SciShow Space for space science and events.
Kurzgesagt: A general science show, often with a focus on social impact and futurism.
The Brain Scoop: A science show about museums and curatorship, with occassional specials on-location or involving dissection for exhibits and collections.
Vintage Space: A show about the space-race era of rockets and space exploration.
Deep Look: A science show which takes a close look at very small animals and insects.

3blue1brown: A mathematics show, focused on visualizations of complex concepts.
Captain Disillusion: A show which emphasizes skeptical thinking, generally through dissecting (faked) viral videos and the techniques they use, both in visual effects as well as audience manipulation.

Alliterative: An etymology show.
NativLang: A show about language and history.

A Moment of Science: A (sadly-retired) PBS show about science.
