Oddly, I'd love to have him read Star Trek: Destiny.

He also did (as mentioned) that one-over of the ST2009 tie-in. He also did "Judgment Day" as a side work to "Far Beyond the Stars". But yes usually he has a 'catalyst' I don't think he likes doing comic books AS comic books, probably in part for 1, his "man behind the screen" style of video editing is less effective with his punchlines. And 2, Linkara has that covered and his audience overlaps with Chuck's a lot. Or at least it used to I have no idea the demographics now that they've gone their separate platforms, as it were, since vidme doesn't really have networking that blip did.Dînadan wrote:He has done one comic review; as part of his Avatar reviews he did the comic that bridges the gap between tLAB and LoK.The Romulan Republic wrote:Hmm, something just occurred to me.
Has anyone ever requested a review of a comic book or graphic novel? And would that be something Chuck would review (I don't believe its explicitly excluded, though I understand that Chuck doesn't take a lot of new requests at all these days)? He's done larger overviews of comics history, and film and television adaptations, of course, but never to my recollection a specific comic book story or story arc, or a graphic novel.

It'd be interesting to see Chuck handle comics, but his area is already so big and broad that opening it up even more seems an ill fit.
Though he could do more crossovers with Linkara, that'd be fun.

The first Rama was brilliant! Just plain brilliant, the sequel trilogy was kind of 'bleah' Rama II was not bad but The Garden of Rama was a little frustrating as it tended to skip over the parts i actually wanted to read about. A lot of Rama Revealed felt like padding, like this entire book could easily have been condensed and little would have been lost.MadAmosMalone wrote:As a huge Arthur C. Clarke fan, put me in the camp for Rama. I wouldn't cry if he, instead, chose Songs of Distant Earth or Childhood's End or any of a number of other Clarke stories.

Actually, there's lots of good Star Trek novels I'd be interested in his opinion on.
