Saddest SF Debris moment?
For me it's when he talks about almost losing his newly born premature children, and wouldn't begrudge someone wanting to escape that pain, even though he was lucky.

Chuck is a comedian, he doesn't do sad. Honestly that is the ONLY moment I can think of.

Chuck can tug at heartstrings on some matters, and that was one of them. Another was "Vincent and the Doctor" and the remarks about mental illness (and his entirely appropriate put-down on writers who treat it like it's some kind of potential superpower).

When Chuck gets serious and not in an angry way, it's always really heartfelt and generally makes me cry.

How about in "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" when he talks about how finding someone you love who's run away, someone emotionally close would be the worst person to try and identify them? Given what he revealed in his blog about his home life, and despite the many marriage jokes he's made, that really upset me. I put myself in his place, yeah. And I felt really sorry for him, as that throwaway line took on new meaning, despite the silly "objectifying girls is wrong but I can't help it" and "Kirk is shirtless and spinning on a circus contraption wheel" jokes.

One moment that stands out for me was the death of the TOS Enterprise in Seach for Spock, how Chuck shared the same thoughts I've always had about that moment. How the Enterprise was as much a beloved character as any of the regulars and as the underdog we wanted to see her triumphant but in the end the truth was she wasn't going to make it out this one.
