Star Trek (TAS): The Eye of the Beholder
Re: Star Trek (TAS): The Eye of the Beholder
yay, the show's back on!
i haven't seen this episode of the animates series, but just based on the review, i rather like the friendly slug dudes. it's nice to see the team behind the animated series really using the medium to expand beyond the typical rubber-faced humanoids that dominate the live action series. to me, it makes the whole setting feel much more diverse and 'real' in a sense.
and while the whole 'trapped in an alien zoo' thing is a bit cliche, the fact that its just a misunderstanding, rather than some sort of act of hostility makes the whole think kinda charming in an odd way.

Is this the last of the animated series?
It feels like there have been a lot of them reviewed.

well, according to wikipedia, there were only 22 episodes made, and i count 21 listed on the site. so yeah, it looks like just one more to go and chuck can actually close the book on an entire star trek series.

If this is the final TAS episode, it seems apropos for me. This was the very first Star Trek episode I ever saw.

Love the comment at the end catching Kirk forgetting that Spock isn't human. Half breeds don't count!
