They're both really good character pieces, with focus on very different characters.

I remember Transmutate a little better, due to the shocking nature of the title character, and due to the unexpected synesis of both Silverbolt and Rampage caring for Transmutate, and wanting to help her, in their own way.

Also, Transmutate's attack method was really unique and cool at the time, but in the longer term the deeper themes have stuck with me more. ;p

And yeah, Code of Hero is definitely one of the high water marks for Transformers.
