Child abandonment, at least. But, even in a Janeway roast thread, lets all just draw a discreet curtain over that one. Nobody wants to remember Threshold.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 3:22 pm Should she be charge with filicide,from threshold.

Re: The crimes of Kathryn Janeway
Even if those lizard children survived they have just introduced foreign animals into an unsuspecting environment. The moral thing to do for both their children and the planet itself would have been to rescue them. So if not filicide, certainly environmental crimes.
That is a very big if however as the salamanders evolved to live inside a shuttlecraft and not on a planet? I mean that is where they were when afflicted by the warp 10 evolution but they also had no hands for the controls or ass for the seat so...

The worst part is it's direct opposition to the national interest of the Federation to strengthen the Borg.Durandal_1707 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 7:59 pm For me, the list begins and ends with assisting the Borg, for reasons already spelled out by others.
You could bring more things into it, but I don't really think you need to.
It would be one thing to play 8472 off against the Borg and wait to aid the latter when they were severely weakened and so damage both threats, but all she thinks about is getting her ship home.

That entire episode was a hallucinatory fever-dream brought on by Neelix experimenting with a dish made from 'special' mushrooms. That's the only way anything in Threshold makes sense.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 3:22 pm Should she be charge with filicide,from threshold.

This whole thread just has me imagining Harry Kim running off to write some version of the Declaration of Independence.
Add a floofy shirt to wear and Harry is ready for his new stage production, 2476!She has arbitrarily granted and removed ranks and privileges to members of Starfleet, upon her sole order and without due process;
She has credentialed as Federation Ambassadors, unqualified persons, who are not Federation citizens, upon her sole authority and without the authorization of the Federation Council;
She has impressed crew into penal servitude of unlimited duration, and without trial;
She has abandoned human settlements subject to the protection of Starfleet, to the jeopardy and idle whims of unknown powers;
She has waged cruel war upon countless species and nations;
She has, time and again, recklessly and dangerously violated Starfleet General Order Number 1.

I'm not sure those can stick. It is canon that Starfleet grants its Post-Captains full authority to promote, demote, and otherwise brevet personnel at their pleasure. It is also canon that Starfleet is authorised by the Federation council to give their Post-Captains full plenipotentiary powers and the authority to delegate those powers if need be.PerrySimm wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 1:12 am This whole thread just has me imagining Harry Kim running off to write some version of the Declaration of Independence.

Wait a minute, nonsense, mushrooms, able travel anywhere. Did discovery base the spore drive off of Threshold?IronySandwich wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 5:13 amThat entire episode was a hallucinatory fever-dream brought on by Neelix experimenting with a dish made from 'special' mushrooms.
