There are very few I don't love, but my favourite is probably VOY: The Disease. From the Seven of Nine song to the random Megatron cameo to the unending degradation of Harry 'Anastasia Steele*' Kim, it has me giggling all throughout. A close second is Rascals, but that's questionable as to whether I should count it as I requested it myself.
*Yes, I Googled that, and I forgive everyone who DOESN'T get the reference.

I guess I should amend that. KOTOR would be my favorite of his "serious" reviews, where he clearly is reviewing something good. When he's reviewing something bad, however... nothing can compare to his review of "The Outrageous Okona." Plus, the battle of the wikis. That's just awesome! I wonder where Chuck stands on the whole "Federation vs. the Empire" thing.

Wrath of Khan for sure: that's the first one I remember thinking, "he's not just a slightly smarter version of a typical jokey YouTube reviewer--this is a full-on critical essay with background reading and footnotes."
But the Corey Hart "Never Surrender" montage in the Galaxy Quest review has a special place for me. The editing is brilliant and the lyrics are surprisingly apt.

'The Disease' is also a favourite review of mine, it's certainly one of his funniest.
I enjoy nearly all of his reviews so you would be better off asking me which ones I don't like.
My five favourite reviews so far are:
-Phage, the lollipops montage at the start cracked me up, he's just so ruthless when it comes to ripping on Voyager's take on logic.
-Unimatrix Zero, he really hated this one so of course it was going to be funny but I really enjoyed his suggestions for improvement. Plus the original concept for the episode sounded much, much better.
-The Day After, without a doubt SfDebris' most chilling review and one of his most interesting. Chuck comes across as a very American person, and there's nothing wrong with that, but most Americans I've talked to about the issue of nuclear armament are usually in favour of it for the typical 'deterrent' reason. I admire how Chuck is fully aware of the horror and danger of nuclear weapons and wasn't afraid to fully explore the issue and while he acknowledges the 'deterrent' excuse he also realises the logical fallacies of it.
-Stargate, I actually kind of enjoy this film and I get the impression Chuck found it fun too but it's a fun film to riff on as well and Chuck pointed out the flaws of the film in very funny ways.
-Titan A.E. I've always found this film rather fascinating, particularly for the behind the scenes stuff so it was great to have Chuck discuss it and bring up some facts even I didn't know.

It's not a favorite exactly, but one of the things I liked about his opinionated episode guides was his look at ENT's "Unexpected." Chuck is the only reviewer I know of who saw what happened to Trip as rape, and was likewise horrified by the way it was played for humor, and the lack of empathy from his crew mates. For a while there, I was part of the Trip/T'Pol 'shippers, and they all thought it was cute because to them it came off as T'Pol being jealous somehow when she snarked. For a long time there, though, I thought I was the only one who saw it as Trip getting pregnant from a rape and it being played for laughs, and it got to the point that I ended up leaving the board that was the main hub for that fandom and pulled my fics from their website. We've kind of patched things up a it since, but it's something I'm always going to remember, like especially the part where a few of them went as far as to suggest a man can't be raped by a woman. So I guess you could say his look at that episode is a bit therapeutic for me.

Re: Favourite Reviews of Sf Debris
There are a LOT of reviews I like, and will listen to repeatedly.
The My Little Pony reviews, because they're both funny and insightful, and fair too. The Last Airbender reviews of the original Aang run of the series. The Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and The Old Republic reviews.
Author Author, In The Pale Moonlight (and the accompanying analysis video), and a number of other Trek reviews are on that list.
OH, and ALL of the George Lucas retrospectives, as well as the Marvel Retrospectives, the Doug Adams retrospective.
Plus the Code of Hero and Bad Spark reviews for Beast Wars too.
There are more on the list, but I'd be listing a good fifth of SFDebris total catalog if I really listed all the reviews I think are great.
Last of all, there are VERY few episodes that I consider actually bad. Or even mediocre.

Okay I've been thinking about this and it's been really difficult to call favorites on almost anything; if anything I could collect "best bits" and even then the list would be a mile long.
However, there is ONE episode I've watched like, way too much. The movie review "In the Mouth of Madness". Mostly because the explanation at the beginning of the Apocalypse Trilogy and the one scene from Prince of Darkness. It's just awesome? It's simultaneously chilling and also puts me in a comfy place, I dunno why.

Does anybody remember what review had the bait-and-switch between Flowers for Algernon and Super Saiyan? That might be my favorite single gag ever because it caught me completely by surprise.

"Schisms"
I still think about that gag with the, "Don't Hover Over Me!"
I giggle to myself out of nowhere thinking about it.

TNG, The Nth Degree. And it wasn't Super Sentai (or Super Saiyan), it was a regular tokusatsu show that predated the Super Sentai genre by a few years.Independent George wrote:Does anybody remember what review had the bait-and-switch between Flowers for Algernon and Super Saiyan?
