"The Chase" does make sense if you ask me. it didn't just explain how all the aliens look human but how all the species in the galaxy can have offspring with one another and those offspring can have offspring.
and there is a real hypothesis called Convergent Evolution that when applied to extraterrestrial life, says that if another planet's environment is similar to Earth's, life on that world would be a lot like life on Earth.
and again, some scientists are seriously considering aliens meddled with our DNA in the past. basically, we don't know for sure but based on some weird stuff found in our DNA, "aliens did it" is currently the best explanation.

I forget exactly but I think it had something to do with the number of cromasones.

I don't know what cromasones are and assume you mean chromosomes and thus still have to ask: What is that theory?

I think it was that the chromosomes found in our DNA are completely unlike other life forms on Earth, or at least, some of them are.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 2:27 pm I don't know what cromasones are and assume you mean chromosomes and thus still have to ask: What is that theory?

Re: Trek versus Evolution
That's nonsense. A) Chromsomes are not "found in our DNA", chromosomes are the macro-form of DNA. What you are saying is, that there can be found a wall in a brick. And B) Our chromosomes are exactly like the chromosomes of any other lifeform on this planet. The only difference is in the amount of chromosomes, but that isn't unique to humans, it's unique to every species. For example, the "Jack Jumper Ant" has either 2 or 1 chromosome, depending on if it's a female or a male example. The Australian Daisy has 12 chromosomes, which is just 2 chromosomes less than a Tasmanian Devil has. Humans have 46, the same amount as a species called Parhyale Hawaiensis, an amphipod crustacean barely as large as the nail on your smallest toe. You know which species has the most chromosomes? The Ciliated protozoas, with about 30 million chromosomes. Those aliens sure have a lot of knowledge hidden in that group of bacterium, eh?Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 2:37 pmI think it was that the chromosomes found in our DNA are completely unlike other life forms on Earth, or at least, some of them are.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 2:27 pm I don't know what cromasones are and assume you mean chromosomes and thus still have to ask: What is that theory?

like I said, I may be forgetting some things. and my source may not be the best but it wasn't one sides either.
but back to the in-franchise thinking, again, them all being related explains not just all of them looking similar but them being able to have fertile offspring.

Technically ciliates aren't bacteria. Bacteria are prokaryotes; living things on Earth are currently divided roughly like this:Madner Kami wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 2:47 pmThat's nonsense. "Prokaryotes" (polyphyletic):
-Bacteria (no nucleus, only basic organelles like ribosomes, no features similar to eukaryotes)
-Archea (no nucleus, only basic organelles like ribosomes, many features similar to eukaryotes, taxonomically closer to eukaryotes than to bacteria)
Eukaryotes:
-Protists (paraphyletic), including:
--Ciliates
--Brown, red, and green algae
--Diatoms
--Flagellated protists (such as trypanosomes)
--Choanoflagellates (basal group to animals, we think)
with derivative groups including:
--Plants
--Fungi
--Animals
Cladistics can be weird.

Any scientist that uses the word God or aliens in an hypothesis is a scientist only in 420 point air quotes. Or, to quote Mr Dara O'Briain: ''Science knows it doesn't know everything; otherwise, it'd stop. But just because science doesn't know everything doesn't mean you can fill in the gaps with whatever fairy tale most appeals to you.''Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 2:01 pm "The Chase" does make sense if you ask me. it didn't just explain how all the aliens look human but how all the species in the galaxy can have offspring with one another and those offspring can have offspring.

Re: Trek versus Evolution
again, I wanted to get back to the idea of, plausible in real life or not, this explains how different species can breed with each other.
also, can we really compare aliens to god or fairy tales since scientists are fairly certain we are not alone in the universe?
