Voyager: what if? Kes > Harry
Re: Voyager: what if? Kes > Harry
TBH I think you guys are giving the writers way too much credit if you think this really would have changed anything. Fact is whether they kept Harry or Kes they would have had plenty of opportunities for interesting stories, and the writers would have pissed it all away anyway.

But Kes was more interesting than Harry. That's the point.

I don't think she was, I think they were pretty well equal as far as what was in the show and what they had the potential to be, but it doesn't matter cause even if I accept that premise as true that would still require the writers to be able to do something with it. They couldn't find a way to make the Maquis conflict interesting. They only did a few interesting things with Kes and Harry before Kes left, and only a few with Harry after Kes left. Why would I believe that with Harry gone they'd have more interesting things with Kes than they managed with Harry? Actually given the Kes has space magic and how much the writers loved to lean on that I can only imagine Kes getting less interesting stories than Harry.

Considering Timeless was like the only interesting Harry story, I disagree.TrueMetis wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 8:46 pm I don't think she was, I think they were pretty well equal as far as what was in the show and what they had the potential to be, but it doesn't matter cause even if I accept that premise as true that would still require the writers to be able to do something with it.
