By what world's rules? By his, they weren't forced, coerced, or tricked.
If an attractive human flirts with another human, and arousal causes the flirtee's rational decision making to become impaired, is that coercion?
What if we're talking about a human flirter and an alien, and we're on the alien's world where their laws apply?
He’s been living with aliens for years. They lose control over themselves every time he goes into heat or whatever it was. I do not believe that no one investigated this, that no one told him it was wrong. I don’t care about what is normal for his race and culture. He’s not living among his people. He’s a rapist. He knows he is a rapist, and so long as he doesn’t get in trouble, he’s going to keep raping people, playing the “I didn’t know” card whenever he is caught.
Ed probably didn’t arrest him because he was ashamed. He was also confused by what happened. It felt consensual at the time. He thought it was his choice, only to learn that it wasn’t. It’s probably easier to process if he just tells himself that it was his choice.
The same goes for Kelly, and it probably ruined their marriage. That Mr. Rapist wouldn’t tell her is disgusting. How can she or Ed even process that? If the guy wasn’t in heat, then she knowingly cheated on Ed, and nothing changes. If he was in heat, then they divorced because she was raped, and they only now know it. They have a right to know what happened.
