Re: DS9 - Visionary
This always felt like a DS9 episode that Brannon Braga might have written himself. It's kind of amazing that it isn't, because it even has his trademark nonsensical time travel mechanics.

It is in US darts. The inner ring is only a double score line across the pond.CrypticMirror wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 11:36 amIt is enraging, and so common on tv. So many people seem to think the bull is the highest scoring slot, and it just is not. They need to bring back Bullseye so people can get a proper darts education.AndrewGPaul wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 11:07 pm This reminds me of my niggly annoyance with DS9 - O’Brien and Bashir don’t play darts properly. Always going for the bull instead of treble 20.

Huh, I never knew that. So that is another thing America does wrong then. Explains why so many people in American stories get it wrong too then, I guess.Mindworm wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 6:22 pmIt is in US darts. Damn convenient it only sends him a couple hours into the future to somewhere in the vicinity of where he'll be. It doesn't send him back in time. Doesn't send him to the spot he's currently in ( a bit of a problem on a space station in orbit).
Re: DS9 - Visionary
Power of plot. Especially if you think about how him time traveling saves the station. As opposed to a Tuesday and all he sees is the matter recyclers overflowing.
I got nothing to say here.

"Gets wrong" like leaving some vestige of flavor in their food? Or rejecting monarchy? Or driving more than 50 miles before collapsing from exhaustion and existential terror?CrypticMirror wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 10:06 pmHuh, I never knew that. It would be fun to see a time travel story where the Horrific Disaster a character is trying to find out about and avert turns out to just be all the toilets overflowing in the guest quarters.

If it's anything like Navy ships, believe me that is pretty horrific.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 3:22 amIt would be fun to see a time travel story where the Horrific Disaster a character is trying to find out about and avert turns out to just be all the toilets overflowing in the guest quarters.
