Superman - The Last Son of Krypton

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

I'm curious what you're referring to. I don't remember him bringing it up in the review.
About 35 second in he says "it had after all been some time since the superman movie came out, and it wasn't good in the first place".
Since I spoke the words quickly, I can understand the confusion, let me correct this: "it had after all been some time since A superman movie came out, and it wasn't good in the first place".
That's not a denial of disliking the first superman movie.

See now I hear the "a" but before I swear you said the. Guess this makes this your "one small step for man" moment.
It had been a long time since aSFDebris review had come out xD

The Krptonians had their DNA tied to the planet somehow so they couldn't leave because it would kill them. This was in response to some protesters who didn't agree with cloning and were going to leave the Krypton. They went with an alien spiritual leader that opposed cloning stating that you can't clone the soul. All the Kryptonians died when they left the planet. Jor-el extracted that element from Kal-els DNA.

Actually I have to say Superman not destroying the lexbot with ease pretty much tells the audience how powerful this Superman is. Not the absolute strongest but still incredibly strong. While I prefer my Superman to be top tier, I do respect the writers taking this route...

aside from when they made him too weak like in some bad episodes in the mostly great show or season 1 of Justice League. Really guys, a small bit of electricity from Deadshot is too much? You can still make Deadshot harm Superman by like, super sonic grenades that hurts his hearing.

I like the fact that in this show as well as Justice League Superman is very tough but not completely invincible. That would have created a boring character.

This depends on the continuity.
Sometimes it is bullshit non-science, other times it is what they went with in "Man of Steel" that the leadership of Krypton was just shitty and allowed things to get apocalypticly bad, maintaining a xenophobic attitude toward the universe after having been a space faring people in ancient history, hence why there are other Kryptonian like aliens out there like the Daxamites (and they also hint that Humanity might also be related to Krypton, hence the physical similarities and the god of Krypton, "Rao" being a known figure to some of the mythic beings of Earth like Zeus).

My favorite one was Earth One's, which was a really bland stupid war between two species that makes no sense because they have FTL but can only connect when their planets are near, and like... wat? Also because Krypton blew up cause of ZOD, for really dumb unclear reasons.

Phew, that's a relief, because the 1979 film is my favourite Superhero movie and among my all time favourite movies I would rewatch a lot list.

I enjoyed Man of Steel (a lot more than I did Superman Returns) but yeah it's nowhere close to being a good movie.
