Y2K opposite universe, "Get along with Russia...", "Yes that would be really really nice..." Which review had this?

I remember Chuck explaining that during Y2K we went to an "alternate/opposite universe". Later as an example, he mentions how in the 60's it was the Democrats saying we ought to get along with Russia, and Republicans responding "Yes that would be really really nice, but of course it's NOT THAT SIMPLE!!" Cut to Trump saying we ought to get along with Russia, followed by some political talk show host (short brown hair, with glasses and 'medium-high' pitched voice I think?) saying "Yes that would be really really nice, but of course it's NOT THAT SIMPLE!!" Chuck's punchline was "I told you: opposite universe!" or something to that effect.

Which video was this? And/or who was that talk show host; is there a YouTube? What I'm looking for is to clip that "Yes that would be really really nice..." bit and make a WEBM and/or MP3 for quick 'n' easy responding. 8-)

Darn it, I thought for SURE that clip was in a Klingon episode re: the ending of the Cold War. Been rewatching those to try and hunt it down, but didn't think it would be in a terrible Season 1 TNG episode instead.

To answer the second part of the question, the talk show host in question is John Oliver, either while he was filling in for John Stewart on The Daily Show, or (more likely, given the background) on Last Week Tonight, his own show on HBO. There's a bunch of episodes on Youtube (legitimately): I think the clip of Trump is from July 2016, so I'd guess it would be in one of the episodes around then. Unfortunately, there's a LOT of Oliver material, and while the man is certainly funny, I'm not going to sift through it looking for that section. But that's where you'd go to look.

While on the subject, I think cooperation with Russia must come at a price - that they acknowledge and condemn and apologize for their mass rapes war crimes against millions of unarmed Eastern European women and female children at the end of WWII when they were the capital power in the USSR. They behaved like animals, got away with their crimes, and now act all offended and pissy when we simply state that they raped like pigs.

While it's understandable to ask that of them, I don't see it doing much good today.

The real price I'd ask is that they finally submit to US global hegemony and cease seeking to challenge their position on the global stage, if only because they simply do not have the means to maintain such a position and act as a drain on the confrontation with China over hegemony.

Well, looking through Chuck's reviews, I agree with him on many of these points, like how we need to remember those who made the right choices and those who thought they could get away with it. And their soldiers indeed got away with it, leaving in their wake ruined lives which included children as young as eight years old, or left behind babies conceived in suffering, or rendered women infertile by shoving hard objects inside that ruptured them. They seriously need to reexamine their ancestors and learn to condemn them for that. There will never be any advancing into a better and brighter future until the crimes of the past are acknowledged. And that includes the singular worst crimes against women in human history. When the total body counts of victims include two million to perhaps fifteen million women and children that was overlooked and tolerated by the authorities, whose perpetrators just went home to take wives and continue having undeserved sex while most likely beating up and abusing said wives, it's something that demands to be remembered. The same way we don't forget slavery (even if too much emphasis is put on African slavery rather than the Irish slaves), or the genocide against the natives. Because it's important to know where you've been, and to forever condemn those who made the wrong choices.
