...that is where I had to pause and take stock, both when watching the episode on dvd for the first time, and when watching the review.
That...that line.
That's what really threatens my remaining sanity. Somebody WROTE that line. Then, a director told an actress how to read that line. She read it, and the crew filmed it, and it went through post production, and all these steps happened where nobody, NOBODY, threw up their hands and screamed "wait, what the HELL are we DOING HERE?!"
Why? Why didn't anybody say something? How did this pass through so many hands and still go forward?
It's the same as the Child Space-rape is super dooper romantic. It's got the word space in it which makes it cool.

If it were erotic it would arouse you.
It would only send you to sleep if it were boring. Like if it were same old same old space rape like a million other episodes.
Chuck guesses this is an Anne Rice rip-off a 50 shades of grey rip-off etc; it is deeper than that.
First there was Harry Potter, next Cassandra Clay wrote a fan-fic Draco Dormiens; third, Cassie wrote City of Bones a totally original story TM by changing children at a wizard school in Britain to a wizard school in USA; fourth, Twilight, a totally original story TM by changing Wizards to sparkly vampires; fifth 50 shades, a totally original story TM by changing Vampires to corporate CEOs as if nobody has spotted that analogy before.

Actually, SF Debris himself said that someone's sex life can be a very private thing, and that reading about it for your own relatives to get yourself off is effed up. But then, do we expect anything less from Braga and what he gave us over on Enterprise?

Another video reviewer did a very funny review of this episode, addressing a lot of the same points ('cause the episode's flaws are pretty obvious) but in a somewhat different way. Check it out.
