Was just rewatching his "First Contact" review and his joke about the Malcorans' popular entertainment was funny as always, but it got me to thinking how it was intended. What do you guys think his honest feelings are towards the show? I neither like it nor dislike it, I'm just wondering if it was meant as a serious disparagement, or if he was just lightly teasing. Of course, if it's the former, I can relate. God, Family Guy sucks now compared to what it used to be, amirite?

I find myself so torn on the subject of American Dad, in that while it started rough there for awhile it was pretty consistently really, really funny. Then it fell off a cliff and pretty much... hasn't gotten QUITE as bad as modern Family Guy but pretty close.

I found American Dad kind of funny at the beginning, but it was also rather mean spirited, and missed a lot too. I stopped watching not too far in, as I lost interest not long after the "Boss dates daughter" episode.
As for Family Guy, it was funny satire at the time, for the pre-cancellation run. After being renewed, it became a very different and much more cruel hearted series.
A similar thing happened with Futurama. The new episode after the cancellation and the movies weren't the same. It had lost that core of being a show of supreme irony.
Also... I think I need to rewatch the First Contact review now. ;p
