Pretty good review
To my knowledge this is the only story form the original Chuck's Covered that the recent remake also covered. The remake condensed it down to 1 episode. And the most important thing left out is that the King doesn't murder the semifinalist Kino beat. Which I suppose make Kino's murder of the king seem less explained. Remake Kino seems a little less interventionist to begin with, Kino is overall neutral, but it mostly depicts scenarios where they get messed with.
Thing is I much prefer three remake explanation for how Kino killed the King.
In the Japanese Kino's gender is left even more ambiguous.

Yeah, how the remake did the coliseum was not good, especially how it ended and what law Kino passed.
