Did Janeway really strand the crew?

I mean, I just read the transcript, and it seems as if Tuvok said it would take several hours in order to learn to activate it, didn't he? Jabin even said he had reinforcements on the way. Hell, if anything, it seems as if Janeway should have simply stated the obvious, "He has more ships coming, we can't hold out here for several hours, they won't negotiate with us, we gotta destroy the array and put more distance between us and them if we want to live." That would make it the writer's fault for not having her properly explain it. Because reinforcements were already coming, and do you seriously think they could have held their ground for several hours against a dozen or maybe more ships in order for Tuvok to learn how to activate it? Yeah, she had told him to look into it, but he confirmed it wasn't a quick solution. I mean, no wonder Janeway fans had called him out for years. The problem isn't that they could have gotten home immediately. It's just the typical lousy scripting and execution I've come to expect from Voyager.

If she stranded the crew then it was probably for a pretty good reason.

So she said she chose the Ocampa over her crew. Very well then. But let's also be clear. Was there any realistic way for them to get home regardless? Reinforcements were coming, which Jabin admitted before her decision (at least as far as I can tell), and it would take several hours to learn to active the array, which is consistent with the Federation encountering a new, unknown alien technology. They could never have held out that long. What the lousy execution of this episode did was basically just give both sides ammunition. Janeway doesn't state the obvious reasons for why they can't go home, and yet there's logical reasons for why they can't. Bah, and this is precisely the reason why Voyager sucks so much. LOL.

Three words: Tri Cobalt Device. If it's powerful enough to blow up the Caretaker's station in one hit, then it sure as hell can cripple the Kazon.

With reinforcements on the way? And they only got one, right? Besides, I thought you blocked me. Then why you trying to engage me?

They had at least two and just because you think something, doesn't mean I am acting like you want me to. You ain't the God you want to be, luckily for all of us.

They had no idea how many reinforcements were on the way. Please provide proof they could have blasted away at maybe ten or even twelve Kazon ships with their uber missiles for hours when you have no idea how many missiles they even possess? Especially given if those Kazon reinforcements started faltering, they'd call in even more.

Just watched. Tuvok asked if he should activate the program to get them back, implying they could do it right away. They talk about getting involved. And by the time she's back on the bridge she's already decided. So yes, she stranded them.

But they did say it would take several hours, so... HUH? Sounds like "Threshold" in its "isn't even internally consistent among itself" approach. Implying it is one thing. They literally state it will take hours. So... I dunno.
