One of my more nostalgic SF Debris episodes. Very good review. Reminds me why I love watching him tear Enterprise a new one. Wish he did the same for STD.

Others feel as if he was fair, so... clearly the other side is seeing something you aren't.

Rogue Planet was a good review. I barely remember this episode, and it's a shame that the decent antagonists weren't in a better story. There's some potential for intrigue and a true conundrum around a creature that incites you to think it's sapient, clouding the ability to determine whether it itself is or not.

Oh I think he was absolutely fair to the show, which is why I enjoyed the reviews. If he had unjustly called it out for things it didn't do it wouldn't be nearly as satisfying as him deriding it for all of the failures it earns through its own hard work.

He doesn't hesitate to call out Discovery for every stupid thing it does, and it's glorious, and absolutely fair.

Did he call out the Mirror Universe characters' newfound weakness to light? I mean, I understand changing something from adaptation to adaptation, but they have to be changes that make sense, and that makes no sense other than, "I'm ignorant to the previous lore, so I'm just gonna say that since these people come from the evil universe, they're weak to light, because they're dark." It's so mind-numbingly stupid I can't even conceive who thought that was a good idea. Or having Section 31 operate so openly. Or making Klingons bloody Orks.

I liked the night vision monocle even if it is impractical. It's the one thing that I really like about ENT compared to the other shows and that is the fact that they aren't beaming down to hostile planets in their pyjamas and catsuits (barring T'Pol obviously). They have equipment, jackets, hats, sunglasses, guns that look like guns, camo gear, and clothes with pockets(!)
This had serious potential. That's what bothers me the most in retrospect. They seemingly went for a more SG-1 feel to the show but stopped halfway.

Yeah, it felt like they wanted to do a lower-tech world, but never put in the work to world-build what what might look like.
