I got some Robocop vibes from that assassin if only because of his origin. There was story potential but it got wasted because of people behind it were dropped after this one episode.

I'm not sure why both Sheridan and Chuck think being asked to keep tabs on certain people is some huge violation of principle. If they specifically asked him to tap phone lines or install hidden cameras, sure, but there are lots of ways to get info on what people are up to that don't involve doing anything illegal.

Because there's no crimes being committed, and while Sheridan is a soldier, he is not a spy for the EA senate or the megacorps that own the Senate on their corporate and non-corporate competition. Complying with such directives is where corruption starts, as it gives those who compete against Futurecorps and other smaller companies an unnatural advantage, as government toadies manuever to make sure that said companies get the good contracts, get good deals, and know what the other company is doing. And all of this is in the guise of 'security'.

Mainly this simply serves as another episode to reinforce the idea of the dark underbelly of EarthGov and PsiCorps. It might have had greater implications if Talia's arc hadn't been abandoned. Ultimately, it meant nothing since Mars was freed by other means, we never see Ms. Carter again, and nothing specific to this episode is mentioned again.

Poor Talia. Seeing her again... it's really sad. I hear JMS had a plan in mind that Kosh was scanning her brain in an attempt to bring the "real" her back once the sleeper program had activated. Is that true?

I also loved that he called out FDR. Irony that most of Sanders' supporters tried to paint their candidate as if he'd usher in that kind of change, while ignoring the very real sins he was guilty of.
