I agree about bay 13 (thought Chuck wasn't gonna mention it at first), it's bad luck, what were they thinking?! And the CGI's too fuzzy for my tastes as well.

Again, it's so amazing to see where this is going with what we know is happening. Clark is just gonna move into the open when the evidence gets to be too much, and it kicks off the civil war. Whoops.

I'd prefer to call B5 8 kilometers. Makes it seem more impressive.

I can see why the Vorlons hate that question, "What do you want?" That's the Shadows' routine.

In real world we have had cases of some one revealing something that government wants to keep secret and they get targeted because of it making this even more realistic episode than it already would had been. And yeah in retrospect we understand why Kosh got angry at Sheridan for asking that question but back then all we had was that Kosh's reaction made it seem like bad move.

Kosh is a character that always annoyed me. He seems so vague and strange its a wonder that other characters have any trust towards him. Yeah being the old man race of the galaxy gives you some leeway to act like a bit of a jerk but that vague speaking in riddles and metaphors routine I think would cause some people to chaff, even drive some people to the Shadow side. Say what you will about the Shadows but they are atleast direct and some people might prefer that to useless platitudes and meaningless riddles (insert current political reference here).

I don't expect him to say to directly Sheridan "bro, we gotta fight the Shadows bro, trust me dude, just chill man" (because in my head Kosh is a surfer bro for some reason) but maybe do a bit more then be mysterious and vague.

I hope the future Vorlon like humans aren't quite so aloof and dickish.

The implicit irony of the fundamentalist Jedi vs. Sith conflict going on here is that neither of those questions are contradictory.

I have to wonder how deeply the old EU was inspired by Babylon 5, as were other sci-fi verses to follow.

B5 truly had influence on sci-fi and science fantasy after it. That's how good show it was that even ST had to have they own version of it with DS9. It even influenced me and how I prefer my fiction to be like.

The thing with Kosh is that his vague comments and such are meant to *guide* you to the answers, guide the *species* to the answers. The Vorlons guide, the Shadows give.

You know, that whole ‘give a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime’ sort of thing.

If you just *tell* people everything, that’s no different from giving them what they aren’t ready for. If you can teach them to *understand* what’s what, they’re much less likely to abuse things.

So you be vague, you make them question. If you’re lucky, you can get them to ask the *correct* questions.

Very early on, Kosh said ‘truth is a three edged sword’ and Chuck seemed confused by that (though it could also have just been a gag), but I believe the explanation for that was there’s my truth, there’s your truth, and there’s the universal truth. Either objective fact, or the truth that will become accepted, or something, I forget what it was precisely.

But that’s a question that you need to ask, what does that mean? You can start to understand it if you think about it. Internalize it.

Hate that saying because big rich Congressional fat cuts use that to justify hurting the poor they are not part of.

Either way, I get what you mean. As to what Kosh means, I will never look on that saying of his again.

You dock the creepy ship in Bay 13 because the Vorlons don't care about human culture superstitions and then you can direct superstitious human skippers to bays with less fraught designations. You have noticed that airplanes and buildings often do not have seat rows or floors labeled "13".

It is not like anything bad is going to happen to Kosh because he does not talk plainly to his allies.
