I feel personally attacked by that "bee" comment

Bee's I could handle, but if the room were guarded by a wasp then I would be done.

How odd. At the time it seemed a bit off the wall to jam another Barclay story into Voyager, but looking back now, this is one of the top episodes, especially since "Blink of an Eye" has fallen into disfavour.

In the scheme of Dwight Schultz outings, IMO this one is right up there with "The Nth Degree"

I do like how this episode remember that the Maquis are not just star fleet better than most of the series.

Looking back, I think the Voyager episodes I like the best tend to be the ones where they broke their pattern. I thought this one was a little too predictable, but seeing Dwight Schulz act crazy and like the Big Man in the Neighborhood was nice, and having Starfleet get communication with Voyager felt like they actually accomplished something for a change. It's not my favorite, but it's up there.

Voyager was not a bad a show as far as bad shows go. It was a formulaic one and wasted its potential as a result.

It's a bit awkward to watch with how Barclay acts with people who are 'real' in the show. But I do like Chuck's reasoning about it. Barclay's lonely, so he connects with the Voyager crew on that level.

Is it any different to how people treat celebs in the real world though? Too many confuse the person with the character. This is going back a few years but I remember when Victor Meldrew was killed off in One Foot in the Grave and people started to leave flowers by the roadside.

I do not find it hard to believe that if someone created a holoprogram in real life where you could interact with the actual Shatner and Nimoy that you wouldn't find a thousand Reg Barclay's literally living with them.
