The actor who plaslys Morden was always a good one to me. He didn't do much. Ended up getting into construction if I recall.
Anyway, the one thing that bothered me about the scenes with G'Kar and London is the constant 'then what do you want'.
In any normal conversation I could answer at best the initial 'what do you want' and the subsequent 'then what do you want'. After that then I get annoyed.
Even he were to ask me about the status of the US government, the second time would actually give me pause. I don't think I would constantly answer that question over and over again.
Then again, someone knocking on my door and asking that question who most certainly have been 'for you not to annoy me' and then come see the door.
I get it, it's dramatic effect. Mainly to see how G'Kar and Londo answer it.

I get what you're saying but it's clear to me the Shadow influence takes hold after he asks the question several times. Each one digs deeper and deeper, until you're compelled to say it. To say what you really want and feel, as the Shadows now have taken hold of you, compelling you to tell them what you truly want.

Telepathically manipulative? A slight push from the Shadows? We know Morden does travel with them.Nobody700 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 1:17 am I get what you're saying but it's clear to me the Shadow influence takes hold after he asks the question several times. One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars.
Re: Signs and Portents review
Yeah, not a full on 'You will listen to us and say what we want and do what we want', more a 'What do you want... we'll pull that out, and you tell us exactly'. Hence why G'Kar annoyed Morden at the end, he told Morden what he wanted... and than had no idea. G'Kar just... didn't want to be like the Centauri. Revenge, but that was it. Londo... Londo wanted more. So much more, and thus, that's what the Centauri would want as well. Remember, if the Vorlons can manipulate things and appear like you with wings to others, that meant the Shadows can manipulate as well. Not force or control... but enough to make you say something you would never say out loud... but think.

Re: Signs and Portents review
G'kar does tell Morden what he wants... G'kar is just under the impression its Revenge
G'kar's actaul answer to the question is when Morden asks him then what?
"The Centauri stripped my world. I want justice. to suck the marrow from their bones...and grind their skulls to powder. To tear down their cities, blacken their sky, sow their ground with salt! To completely and utterly erase them!"
This isn't his real answer, G'kar thinks it is but Morden presses and gets honestly a very telling reaction
G'kar looks absolutely lost for words... like all the fiery hate and certainty of purpose just evaporates from his face.
"I don't know...As long as my homeworld's safety is guaranteed I don't know if it matters?"
Morden doesn't bother to press Londo cause Londo gives him both barrells
What he wants for his people and what he personally wants

Re: Signs and Portents review
Yeah,I know everyone knows G'Kar hates the Centauri but I doubt he would EVER saw suck the marrow from their bones, even to the most ardent Narn veteran. Morden used the Shadows to drag that out of G'Kar... and show G'Kar what he really thought BEYOND revenge. The fact that... he just doesn't want to suffer again. He doesn't want to wage war against everyone, and so, was a bad agent for the Centauri. A short term man, for the long term Londo.

I am curious what President Clark said. Or Vice President at the time.
I got nothing to say here.

"I want... I want to stop being a man who everyone points and laughs at. I want to stop being the toady for corporations and other men of power who view mew as nothing more than a distraction or a poison for others. I want... I want to be a man who stops letting others boss him around. I want to be remembered by everyone, and I want everyone to listen to what I say. I want to have the ability to command whole legions... no... whole PLANETS, and they listen to me. I don't want their damn respect or loyalty. I want my word to never be ignored. My orders to be like that from God. I want the name Clark to be remembered a thousand years after I did... and I want it so that when someone names their child Clark, they will have ME in mind."

There's a point at which it sounds like a small child asking "Why?" over and over again.McAvoy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 4:08 am The actor who plaslys Morden was always a good one to me. He didn't do much. Ended up getting into construction if I recall.
