So Picard can date a subordinate but when he gets uncomfortable, have her transferred. Ah, that utopian gender equal future.
It's also annoying they didn't bother just trying Beverly and Picard.
Yeesh.

Beverly and Picard is an odd one. There doesn't appear to be any rules in Starfleet against dating a co-worker - Riker/Troi, Worf/Troi, Bashir/Ezri, Worf/Jadzia, Paris/Torres, Seven/Chakotay - and yet it never happens.
I suppose you can argue conflict of interest or power dynamics with him being the captain. But surely you can also argue that dating the XO or a department head is just as bad.
And the thing is, after the telepathic prison episode, they absolutely want each other. They know that each other wants each other. And yet the reset button is pushed anyway.
Insurrection is also kind of funny in that regard. Riker's hormones drive him into the arms of Troi, Picard's hormones drive him into the arms of a stuck up elf whom he barely knows.

Funny thing is and I have maintained this for awhile now, she does resemble a bit like Crusher too. Sure no red hair.
